Dairy Herd Management to Farmers: Put the “You” in YouTube
• Posted in Articles
What’s the most powerful way to tell your story? Hint: it’s not through someone else.
Dairy Herd Management offers five tips to help farmers spread the word on the great things they’re doing on the farm. Among the helpful hints is using do-it-yourself resources like YouTube and other social media channels.
It’s hard to find the time, but one incentive is the pride in taking an active role in properly representing agriculture. Also, some organizations are offering big prizes to get farmers out in front of the camera. Cotton Incorporated is giving away a free truckload of cottonseed to the maker of the top video in its recent “Innovative On-Farm Storage Solutions for Cottonseed Video Contest.” The contest just wrapped, but public voting is now in progress, and a separate voters sweepstakes is in place. Cotton Incorporated will launch a subsequent video contest in spring 2011. So, farmers should be sure to brush up on their YouTube skills via DHM’s tips, and check WholeCottonseed.com often for updates!
